Suspect Arrested in Teen's Shooting Death

Vaughn Holeman was shot in the chest and under the arm by someone in a passing vehicle on Sunday afternoon

Police arrested and charged a juvenile Monday in connection with the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in Chicago's West Pullman neighborhood a day earlier.

Vaughn Holeman was shot in the chest and under the arm by someone in a passing vehicle about 3:40 p.m. in the 200 block of West 116th Street, within a mile from his home in the 400 block of West 115th Street, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

He was taken in to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m., authorities said.

The suspect's name was not released because of his age.

Holeman was one of four people killed and 22 people wounded by gunfire over the weekend.
