U.S. Women's National Team Coach Jill Ellis to Manage Final Game at Soldier Field

Ellis led the team to the 2015 and 2019 Women's World Cup titles

United States Women’s National Team head coach Jill Ellis will make her final appearance as the club’s leader at a friendly match at Chicago’s Soldier Field in early October, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced Thursday.

Ellis, who led the United States to Women’s World Cup championships in 2015 and 2019, will make her 132nd and final appearance for the squad when they take on Korea in a friendly match at Soldier Field Oct. 6.

The match is one of five on the docket for Team USA’s victory tour after winning the World Cup title in France earlier this summer. Matches are also scheduled for Pasadena, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and Charlotte, with the United States playing Ireland, Portugal, and Korea in the five friendlies.

All 23 players from the Women’s World Cup-winning squad will be on the roster for the victory tour.

Tickets for the game between the American squad and Korea will go on sale Aug. 9 at 10 a.m., the USSF said, and will be available through the federation’s website.

Aug. 3: USA vs. Ireland Pasadena, CA 9 p.m., ESPN 2

Aug. 29: USA vs. Portugal Philadelphia, PA 6 p.m. FS1

Sept. 3: USA vs. Portugal St. Paul, MN 7 p.m. ESPN2

Oct. 3: USA vs. Korea Republic Charlotte, NC 7 p.m., FS1

Oct. 6: USA vs. Korea Republic Chicago, IL 1 p.m. ESPN

Tickets have sold fast in other markets, and fans are encouraged to buy seats early. The American squad has played seven matches at Soldier Field, and has never lost.
