Two Decomposed Bodies Found in Northwest Indiana Woods

The bodies appear to have been deceased for "an extended length of time," an investigator said

Police in Hobart, Ind., discovered two decomposed bodies in the woods Friday afternoon, according to the Northwest Indiana Post-Tribune.

The bodies were found in a wooded area on private property in the 7000 block of Grand Boulevard, according to the Lake County coroner.

Bob Byrd, the head of the Northwest Indiana Major Crimes Task Force, told the Post-Tribune the bodies appear to have been deceased for "an extended length of time."

The victims were identified as men by the Lake County coroner, who determined the manner of death as homicide. Both victims suffered from gunshot wounds.

The bodies have not yet been identified, and further information was not available.
