Two Cars Smashed Amid Dangerous Chicago Winds

Two cars were smashed in Chicago as strong winds barreled through the area, prompting evacuations and CTA Metra delays.

A car on the Near West Side was crushed by a building that collapsed at 1800 W. Walnut. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Another car was demolished in the same area, at West Fulton St and North Jefferson St.

Driving in the winds is also expected to be challenging, especially for high profile vehicles, the National Weather Service has warned.

Falling debris were also certain to complicate the evening commute for many others in the Chicago area, as Green and Pink Line services have been temporarily suspended.
