The travel review website TripAdvisor has named several Chicago hotels among the best in the country based on users' reviews from the past year.
The Langham, which opened in 2013 at 330 N. Wabash, earned the No. 1 spot for the best overall hotel in the U.S. and the top luxury hotel in the country for the site's 2015 Travelers' Choice awards.
A handful of other Chicago hotels also received top rankings. The Talbott Hotel and the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago made the top 25 for best overall hotel with 11th place and 19th place rankings, respectively. The Four Seasons also made the top luxury hotel list with a 11th place spot. Finally, the KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee came in 23rd for the best family hotel.
After the Langham, the top ranked hotels in the U.S. were the French Quarter Inn in Charleston, South Carolina, and Bardessono in Yountville, California.
The awards for best rankings in the world went to hotels overseas. Gili Lankanfushi in the Maldives ranked at the best hotel in the world, and the Place Luxury Boutique Villas in Ko Tao, Thailand, ranked as the top luxury hotel in the world.
Chicago recently earned another top spot on TripAdvisor as it was named the fifth most reviewed city in the U.S. Last summer, Millennium Park also made their list of best parks in the world, coming in at No. 4 after Central Park in New York City.
