Extra Seriously Injured on Transformers 3 Movie Set

Filming wraps up in Chicago on Thursday

An extra working on the filming of Transformers 3 was seriously injured on the set in Indiana Wednesday night.

The movie crew was filming a stunt in Hammond, Ind., using numerous vehicles and drivers.  During a stunt shortly before 7 p.m., an object struck a 2006 Toyota, went through the windshield and struck the driver.

The Toyota was personally owned by the driver, Gabriella Cedillo, who was an extra in the movie and not a member of the stunt personnel, police said.

The Toyota continued moving and hit the inner median concrete barrier wall before coming to a stop, police said.

Cedillo, 24, was airlifted from the area to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood with a serious head injury, police said.  The vehicle had "extensive damage" to its driver's side.

Cedillo has been listed in critical condition, said Indiana State Police Sgt. Ann Wojas.

"This was not her first time as an extra," said Cedillo's brother, Adam.  "She always wanted to be in movies."

The crew had been filming in the area since Monday.  Plans to film for a final day in Chicago on Thursday were put on hold.
