Armed robbery is never a laughing matter, but stupid criminals are.
A woman at Woodfield Mall on Thursday afternoon told police she was walking to her car in the parking lot when she was approached by a man.
The man, with his hand covered with a towel, implied that he had a weapon and demanded money.
His master plan was quickly abbreviated when the towel fell his hand and the victim was enlightened (and likely relieved) that there wasn't a weapon.
The man ran away and the woman was unharmed.
Police said they're looking for a towel-toting man.
