FREE FLICKS: The Chicago International Film Festival will be screening movies at the Chicago Cultural Center all summer long, starting tonight through Sept. 24. The program spotlights a film representing a different country's national cinema every Wednesday evening and select Saturday afternoons for 21 consecutive weeks. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to theater capacity. Special guest speakers will lead post-screening discussions at select screenings. 6:30 pm, Claudia Cassidy Theater (78 E. Washington St)

CHARITABLE SOCIALIZING: The Stimulus Social Club's popular monthly social event goes down at District Bar tonight. The $10 door donation gets you one free drink and appetizers and the opportunity to mingle with other professionals in the crowd. Proceeds from tonight's event benefit SitStayRead.
