Tonight: Get Your WhiskeyFest On

Plus, Divo Series networking event and Salsa 101

SERIOUS SIPPERS: There's no shortage of brown liquor around town during Saturday's sold-out WhiskyFest Chicago. Warm up at Blokes & Birds, who begins two days of whisky-related tastings and events tonight with a Heaven Hill Distillery tasting. Master Distiller Craig Beam will offer tutorials and complimentary samples of Heaven Hill Distillery whiskeys and chef Greg Cannon has created a special menu of items paired with, you guessed it -- whiskey. 5-10 pm, 3341 North Clark St, RSVP at (773) 472-5252

MAN UP: It's all about the fellas tonight as Maven presents the Divo Series networking event at the House of Blues Foundation Room. The monthly event honors influential men in Media, Marketing, Sports, Fashion, Fitness, Music, TV and more. DJ Madrid will be spinning as well as being honored tonight, joined by businessman Quinton de' Alexander and the founders of Poggled.com, who were told will be doling out some free drinks for early arrivers. 6-9 p.m., 329 North Dearborn, FREE. RSVP to sarah@maven-chicago.com

SALSA 101: If you've always wanted to learn how to salsa, tonight's as good a time as any to get started. Head over to Carnivale for a class hosted by instructors from Latin Street Dancing. The cost of the class includes chips and guacamole and a mojito, which should help you loosen up a bit on the dance floor. 6:30-8 p.m., 702 W. Fulton St., $25. RSVP to 312-850-5005
