Todd Stroger Plans County Board Run: Report

He's back.

Former Cook County president Todd Stroger tells the Chicago Sun-Times that he plans to return to politics and run for a seat on the board he used to lead.

Stroger told a Roosevelt University urban politics class that he will run for Bill Beavers' seat currently held by Stanley Moore, according to the newspaper. Beavers was convicted of tax evasion in March.

Stroger lost his bid for re-election as Cook County Board president in 2010.

The Democratic primaries will be held next March.
