Teens Throw Drinking Party, Trash Out-of-Towners' House: Police

Police on June 15 were searching for a missing 14-year-old boy when they received a tip and entered the home

A group of teens trashed an Illinois home during a drinking party, leaving behind vomit, feces and smashed walls and stealing more than $17,000 in cash while the homeowners were overseas, according to a police report.

Police on June 15 were searching for a missing 14-year-old boy when they received a tip and entered a home in the 3100 block of Valcour Road in Glenview.

When officers got inside, they found smashed drywall in the basement, empty beer cans and bathrooms smeared with feces and vomit, the report states.

The officers found two 14-year-old boys in the home who appeared to be intoxicated and told officers they were the last kids left from a large underage drinking party in the house. One of the boys was the missing teen police were looking for.

Police reportedly called the homeowner, who had traveled along with his family to Korea, and officers were told the homeowner had not given permission for party and a stateside family member said she had not given permission either.

Police also said they were told bundles of cash, up to $17,000, were also taken from the home, the report states.

No charges had been filed as of Wednesday and the house was placed on an extra watch by police until the homeowners return.

The homeowner said he plans to change the locks, get a security system and better secure his windows.
