A 13-year-old girl was badly hurt after being shot on Chicago’s West Side on Sunday afternoon.
According to police, the girl was standing on a sidewalk in the 1600 block of South Homan in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood at approximately 3:30 p.m. when two men got out of a burgundy-colored SUV and opened fire, striking her.
Authorities say the girl was shot twice in the stomach, and she was taken to Stroger Hospital, where she was listed in red (serious-to-critical), but stable, condition.
No offenders are in custody in connection with the shooting, and Area Central Detectives are continuing to investigate the shooting.
