An armored car was robbed in suburban Sycamore on Thursday morning, according to police and federal agents.
The robbery occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m. at a strip mall in the 1400 block of South Peace Road, according to authorities.
While the car was servicing a business, two masked suspects reportedly stole money from the truck and then fled in a silver Ford Escape, or a similarly styled SUV. Police say that vehicle may have been driven by a third suspect.
The Sycamore Police Department and DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area for the suspects, and were unable to locate them.
The investigation is ongoing into the robbery, but officials believe that the robbery was an isolated incident.
