Swiss Club Signs Chicago Forward Patrick Kane

Swiss hockey club Biel has signed Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane to play during the NHL lockout.

Biel says the 24-year-old former top draft pick is scheduled to arrive in Switzerland on Sunday. Kane, a three-time All-Star, helped Chicago win the 2010 Stanley Cup.

Biel is currently sixth in the 12-team Swiss top division.

Back in May the Blackhawks expressed disappointment over Kane's actions following a Cinco de Mayo bender in Madison.

General Manager Stan Bowman said that he and Kane spoke privately and handled the matter internally.

"We're obviously disappointed with how it played out and Patrick is aware of that fact. At this point, it's a private matter," Bowman said. He added that he was not going to comment on the incident anymore, and that he, Kane and the team are "going to look forward."
