Swim bans and advisories were in effect at numerous Chicago beaches Monday afternoon, warning of hazardous surf and water quality.
According to the Chicago Park District, swim bans were in effect at Montrose and Fargo beaches and swim advisories were reported at more than a dozen other beaches.
The swim bans warned of unsafe surf conditions while the swim advisories warned of water quality.
The list of beaches under a swim advisory include:
- 57th Street
- Calumet
- Howard
- Humboldt
- Juneway
- Lane
- Leone
- Loyola
- MT Burroughs
- MM Griffin
- Montrose
- North Avenue
- North Shore
- Oak Street
- Osterman
- Rainbow
- Rogers
