SWAT Team Responds to Situation on Chicago's West Side: Police

A SWAT team responded to a situation on Chicago's West Side early Monday, according to police.

At around 6:18 a.m., officers responded to a call of a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of South Springfield Avenue in the city's Lawndale neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

A SWAT team was called in at around 6:30 a.m., officials said, and part of the building was evacuated.

A heavy police presence could be seen lined down the block, which was closed for more than an hour as authorities remained on the scene.
