A Chevy SUV was stuck between two semi-trailers on I-294 Monday after an accident that sent three people to the hospital and blocked multiple northbound lanes, Illinois State Police confirmed.
A 2004 Freightliner Straight Truck was “driving too fast for conditions and failed to slow for stopped traffic” before crashing into the rear of the SUV around 5 p.m. near the Cermak Toll, police said. The SUV then struck the read end of a 2007 Freightliner Tractor with a semi-trailer, police said. The SUV was stuck between the two other vehicles.
Three people were taken to Elmhurst, Hinsdale and Loyola Hospital with injuries, police said.
