A Chicago man is facing felony charges after a fatal hit-and-run on the city’s West Side, police announced Thursday.
32-year-old Elijah Brown was taken into custody on Tuesday shortly after the hit-and-run crash, which took place in the 3900 block of West Lake Street at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the city’s East Garfield Park neighborhood.
On Thursday, Brown was charged with felony counts of reckless homicide, aggravated DUI resulting in an accident and death, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Brown was also charged with misdemeanor DUI charges.
Brown was arrested at his home after police positively identified him as the driver involved in the hit-and-run crash.
The crash killed 59-year-old Lee Davis, who was walking in the bike lane of the street at approximately 1:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle.
Officers say the vehicle then hit a second parked car, knocking it into nearby CTA property. The suspect then fled the scene.

Davis was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
Brown was arrested two miles from the scene, still behind the wheel of his Jeep.
