Halina Juchas-Ciszek got quite the surprise after becoming a new U.S. citizen.

The custodian at River Valley Elementary in Lemont, who is a native of Poland, arrived at work to find the entire student body lining the halls to congratulate her on her achievement.

"Halina was overwhelmed with your joy and happiness in her accomplishment of becoming a United States citizen," the school wrote in a post with video of the heartwarming scene.

Photos and footage from the school showed Juchas-Ciszek walking through the halls wearing an American flag scarf and shirt and a bedazzled "USA" headpiece while high-fiving dozens of students and staff as they chant "USA."

Principal Debra Lynch said the display also gave an important message to the students: you are never too old to reach your dreams.
