All Metra Milwaukee District North Line trains are stopped near Edgebrook on the Northwest Side after a train fatally struck a person.
Train No. 2141 hit a person, whose age was not immediately known, just after 6 p.m. between the Forest glen and Edgebrook train stations, according to Metra spokesperson Michael Gillis.
The Cook County medical examiner said investigators were sent out to a scene of a person killed by a Metra train.
Trains have been stopped for the last 90 minutes, Gillis said.
Chicago Police officers are at the scene helping with traffic control, according to a police source.
