Overnight storms caused big problems for travelers at Chicago's airports on Monday.
Hundreds of flights were canceled at O'Hare and Midway airports Monday night, stranding people in the terminals.
"I was pretty surprised I saw hundreds of people crashed all over the place - cots, spread out on chairs," said one traveler stuck in Chicago.
"I thought about getting a hotel, but all the hotels around here were booked so I just made my way back to the terminal and stayed awake," he added.
A photo posted on Twitter by Tom Wilmer, headed to Wisconsin from Chicago, showed cots lining a hallway at O'Hare, with the caption, "Not a hospital" and calling it a "bad night at O'Hare."
Wilmer said he was impressed that the airport provided bedding and cots - though not everyone had that luxury, with some sleeping on the floor or wherever they could find a spot.
The flight delays and cancellations were prompted by a round of storms moving through the Chicago area overnight, bringing heavy rain, lightning and even hail.

As of Tuesday morning, at least 125 flights were canceled at O'Hare and 9 at Midway, with delays averaging under 15 minutes at both.
