Startup Company Offers to Pay Parking Tickets

Did the city nab you for parking in a street sweeping zone? Here's a chance to get that ticket paid for.

A San Francisco-based company called MetroMile is offering to give $60 in cash to the first 100 people who can produce a parking ticket and show that they downloaded their MetroMile app.

Company reps will be in front of the Tribune Tower at 435 N. Michigan Ave. at noon Wednesday to give out the cash.

The MetroMile app, available on iOS phones, features a street sweeping feature that uses GPS to note the location of your parked vehicle and alert you ahead of time if you're in a street sweeping zone.

Chicago's street sweeping season kicked in on April 1.
