Squad Cars Crash During Police Chase

A police chase from the West Side Lawndale neighborhood all the way to Hammond, Indiana ended with three people arrested and two squad cars wrecked on the Eisenhower Saturday night, reports the Chicago Tribune.

News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro told the Tribune "During this time there was an accident between two squad cars with one squad car hitting a median at Ashland," Alfaro said.  He also said no one was hurt.

According to the Tribune, it began Saturday night at around 11:15 p.m. when someone began shooting from a car at the intersection of Ogden and Trumball avenues, near the Ogden District police station at 3315 W. Ogden Ave.  Officers who witnessed the shooting began chasing the car, which lead officers onto the eastbound Eisenhower Expressway.

The chase ended in Hammond Indiana, where the car stopped and three inside began running away.

Officers caught and arrested them.  So far the three have not been charged.
