Chicago Weather: Part of the Area Could See Snow This Weekend

A chance for some accumulating snow is possible Saturday particularly in areas north and west of Chicago

Much like the battle between the living and the dead (ahem, "Game of Thrones" fans), the battle between spring and winter is heating up this weekend in Chicago.

A chance for some accumulating snow is possible Saturday particularly in areas north and west of Chicago, according to NBC 5 Storm Team meteorologists.

Details on how much snow could fall are still developing, but it appears wet weather is almost certain.

Rain is expected to develop in the morning and continue through the afternoon. Some wet snow could mix in later in the day in areas north and west with some accumulation possible.

Temperature highs are expected to reach into the mid- to upper-40s.

Sunday warms into the low- to mid-50s, but will stay cooler along the lakefront.
