Spring Snow Causes Accidents, Delays

More flurries on the way Friday, Saturday

Spring snow?

That's no oxymoron in Chicago, where snow and ice settled on roads across the Chicago area, causing delays and accidents in the suburbs.

Among several Lake County accidents Thursday morning, Route 83 was shut down near Route 22 in Long Grove because of a rollover crash.

In Itasca, police and fire officials responded to an accident at Thorndale and North Prospect avenues. On I-290, a car slid into a guardrail.

Thursday's forecast is mostly snow-less, but it comes with gusty winds and more cold temps hovering in the 30s for much of the day.

Come Friday and Saturday, more flurries are possible, mainly in the southern suburbs, according to NBC Chicago's Andy Avalos

Spring continues to churn out cold through the weekend. Keep a lookout for sunshine by Sunday.
