Filmmaker Spike Lee is reportedly in talks to bring several big-name stars with ties to Chicago on board for an upcoming film.

The Wrap reported Thursday that Kanye West, Common, Jeremy Piven and Samuel L. Jackson are being courted by Lee to appear in a project called "Chiraq," which is being produced by Hollywood's newest studio, AmazonStudios.

Chiraq, of course, is the slang term used to compare America's third-largest city to a war zone because of its violent crime.

Details on the plot of the movie have not been publicly released. The Wrap, citing sources, said that discussions with the stars are ongoing but no deals have been signed.

Jeff Bezo's Amazon launched AmazonStudios in 2010 with an aim to produce original content for its Amazon Instant Video platform.
