Several Inches of Snow Fall Across Chicago-Area

For the second time this week, snow impacted traffic in the Chicago area on Saturday morning as below-average temperatures continue to grip the area.

While Thursday’s snow was mainly concentrated south of Interstate 80 and into northwest Indiana, Saturday’s snow was a bigger issue in the northern part of the NBC 5 viewing area, with at least an inch of snow falling in several locations.

NBC 5’s Lisa Chavarria took a ride in Storm Chaser 5 this morning to bring you the latest on the snowy conditions impacting the area. 

Here are the latest snowfall totals from the National Weather Service:

Algonquin: 1 inch

Aurora: 2 inches

Batavia: 1.5 inches

Beach Park: 1.1 inches  

Clarendon Hills: 1 inch

DeKalb: 1 inch

Downers Grove: 1.3 inches

Glen Ellyn: 0.8 inches

Lakewood: 1 inch

Lombard: 1 inch 

Marengo: 1.1 inches

Medinah: 1 inch

Midway Airport: 0.8 inches 

Morton Grove: 1 inch

Mundelein: 0.9 inches

Naperville: 1.6 inches

O’Hare Airport: 1.5 inches 

Sleepy Hollow: 1.2 inches

Sugar Grove: 1.8 inches 

West Dundee: 1.8 inches

Despite the snowy weather, things are expected to dry out in coming days, and temperatures will slowly begin to climb back into the 40’s early next week.
