Here's something we had hoped to avoid until next winter -- snow in the forecast.
Though weather models show warm conditions through the weekend, a temperature drop on Monday could bring rain and, yes, possibly snow.
Periods of rain could mix with flurries Monday and fully change to snow late in the day as predicted overnight lows drop to around 30 degrees. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the 40s by next Tuesday, though, making any accumulation unlikely.
The good news? We're in for a warm rest of the week.
Thursday high temperatures likely will range from the low 60s north of Chicago to the mid-to-upper 60s south and in northwest Indiana. A few scattered showers are possible, though, in the morning in northern counties and by the afternoon in southern counties.
Friday looks pleasant thanks to partly sunny, breezy conditions with only a slight chance for any showers and highs in the low to mid-60s
Those high temps continue Saturday and Sunday, but showers and a few storms are possible Saturday evening. More rain is expected Sunday with a few embedded storms.
Monday will be much cooler with periods of rain and possible snow.
