Parts of the northern suburbs saw more than a foot of snow overnight Saturday, but there's still more wintry weather on the way.
Temperatures are expected to drop Saturday night across the Chicago area, bringing the coldest air of the season by Sunday morning.
The heaviest band of snow fell in the far northern and northwestern counties, where Grayslake saw 16 inches overnight and Capron in Boone County recorded 18.5 inches.
A Winter Storm Warning was extended until 8:00 p.m. Saturday for Northwest Indiana.

With 11.2 inches of snow falling at O'Hare, this two-day storm is now the second largest November snowfall for that area, falling just short of the 12" record set 120 years prior on Nov. 25-26 in 1895.
The first accumulating snow fell Friday evening, with precipitation beginning as a rain and snow mix before transitioning to steady snow in the late hours of the night.
As temperatures dropped, rain lightened to flurries in the afternoon, leaving Chicago with several inches accumulated on the ground.
From Saturday night to Sunday morning, temperatures are expected to barely reach the 30 degree mark.
Local
Highs will stay in the low 30s Sunday for a breezy and cold Bears game before returning to the 40s for the start of the work week.
