SkyWest Flight Forced to Return to Gate After ‘Issue': CDA

SkyWest Flight no. 4478, headed for Salt Lake City, “has an issue and returned to a gate at O’Hare,” Karen Pride with the Chicago Department of Aviation confirmed

A SkyWest Airlines flight was forced to return to its gate at O’Hare International Airport Thursday morning after an issue that may have involved the aircraft’s engine.

According to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford, authorities were called for an emergency alert at the airport after an aircraft reported an “engine flame out.”

SkyWest Flight no. 4478, headed for Salt Lake City, “has an issue and returned to a gate at O’Hare,” Karen Pride with the Chicago Department of Aviation confirmed.

SkyWest said in a statement flight 4478, which was operating as a Delta Connection from Chicago, return to the gate prior to take off "due to an engine indication."

"The passengers safely deplaned at the gate, and we are working to help them resume their travels as soon as possible," the statement read.
