Showers Possible for Shamrock Shuffle

Shamrock Shuffle runners could be showered with rain during the event this weekend.

While Sunday looks to warm up from the unseasonably cold temperatures forecast for Friday and Saturday, the area will likely see rain Sunday, and the rain could come early enough to impact runners.

The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K begins at 8:30 a.m. in downtown Chicago and Grant Park. (Watch it live here)

With temperature highs reaching into the mid-40s Sunday, the warmth will be a welcomed relief for shufflers after snow fell across the Chicago area Friday.

But with the warmth comes another chance for rain. There is a chance for showers during the morning hours Sunday, particularly after 9 a.m. , but most of the rain looks to arrive in the city after 12 p.m.

Southerly winds will sit at around 15 to 25 mph.

The warm weather continues into next week with highs reaching into the 60s by Wednesday.
