1 Injured in Shooting Outside Truman College on City's North Side

One person was injured in a shooting outside Truman College on Monday night on Chicago's North Side, police said. 

A 29-year-old man was shot while sitting on a sidewalk at approximately 7:40 p.m. near the intersection of West Wilson Avenue and North Broadway. An unknown offender inside a vehicle fired shots at the victim, police said.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right ankle, and was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in stable condition. 

The shooting took place steps away from the college, witnesses said.

Part of Wilson Avenue was closed while police responded to the scene.
