Woman, 2 Teens Injured in Shooting on Chicago's West Side

The shooting happened at 8:32 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Independence Boulevard

A 23-year-old woman and two teenage boys sustained injuries in a shooting on Saturday night in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side, police said.

The shooting happened at approximately 8:32 p.m. in the 1300 block of South Independence Boulevard. According to police, a dark-colored vehicle pulled up in front of an apartment building, and multiple people inside fired shots at the three victims.

The 23-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, and was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. A 14-year-old boy sustained a graze wound to the leg, and went to Stroger Hospital in fair condition while a 13-year-old male victim went to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left arm. He was listed in fair condition.

The shooting remained under investigation Saturday evening.
