Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had some ups and some downs in his first career playoff game, but unfortunately he’ll have to wait for his chance at a second after the team lost 16-15 to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
Trubisky, who threw for 303 yards and a touchdown in the loss, put the team in a position to win late, but Cody Parkey missed a field goal to end the Bears’ season.
“We’re just all a bit shell-shocked,” Trubisky said after the game. “We didn’t expect it to end that way. I’m proud of the way the guys stuck together.”
Trubisky led the Bears on a scoring drive in the fourth quarter, throwing a touchdown pass to Allen Robinson, but it wasn’t enough as his first career playoff game ended in losing fashion.

Despite the loss, Trubisky is optimistic about the future, and is hoping to get another crack at the postseason.
“We put ourselves in a good position to win that game, he said. “It’s been a privilege to be part of this family.”

Trubisky put a scare into some Bears fans when he came up limping in the second quarter, but he was able to stay in the game, and that toughness earned praise from head coach matt Nagy.
“The kid’s tough. I like having that at the quarterback position,” he said.
