Girl Sexually Assaulted Two Blocks From President's Home

A 14-year-old girl told authorities she was walking her dog in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood when she was forced between two garages and sexually assaulted.

The attack reportedly happened near East 52nd Street and Berkeley Avenue, just blocks from  President Barack Obama's home and just down the street from where a police officer is stationed each day.

Security was extra tight Tuesday because the president and his family were in town awaiting election returns.

"I would think with the maximized security it wouldn't happen," said one resident.

But it did, and police say a dark-complected black man is the attacker. Officers said the man stood between six-feet, two inches and six-feet, four inches tall with a medium to slim build. He had short black hair and was wearing a black jacket with yellow stripes on the arms and jeans.

Neighbor Tien Nguyn said someone tried to rob him two blocks away, using the same technique the teen's rapist user on her.

"They come from behind and knock me down," he recalled.

Police say residents confronted by an attacker should remain calm and try to remember any unique physical characteristics that could help in their search.
