Sex Offender Charged With Exposing Himself To Kids

A northwest suburban man on probation for a child sex conviction has been ordered held on $100,000 bond for again exposing himself to young children, according to prosecutors.

Austin Hamilton, 26, of Des Plaines is charged with three counts of felony sexual exploitation of a child, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office said in a statement Thursday.

Prosecutors claim Hamilton has exposed and fondled himself in front of the same girls as they played near their homes on three separate occasions since August 2013.

The girls, between 7 and 9, ran inside and told a parent each time, but Hamilton fled without being identified after the first two incidents, authorities said.

On Monday, Hamilton approached the girls for a third time, and they immediately told an adult, authorities said. One of the victims was able to identify him as he rode away on a bicycle, and he was arrested nearby by Mount Prospect police.

Hamilton was identified at the scene and later in a physical lineup, prosecutors said.

At the time of the incidents, Hamilton was on court-ordered probation stemming from an April 2013 conviction for sexual exploitation of a child, prosecutors said.

In that case, Hamilton exposed his penis to a 9-year-old child, the state’s attorney’s office said. He was sentenced to 24 months probation, and ordered to undergo sex offender treatment and register as a sex offender.

Judge Jill Cerone-Marisie ordered Hamilton held on a $100,000 bond at a hearing Wednesday at the Rolling Meadows courthouse, the state’s attorney’s office said. He will next appear in court June 19.
