
A multi-vehicle crash in suburban Hampshire left four people hurt, including one who had to be airlifted to a Rockford hospital.
According to Hampshire fire officials, a two-vehicle crash occurred on Route 72 just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The head-on crash resulted in a total of four people being injured, three of whom had to be extricated from their vehicles, according to officials.
One of the victims was listed in critical condition and had to be airlifted to a Rockford Hospital.
Two other patients were extricated from vehicles and were transported to an Elgin hospital, according to authorities. One suffered serious injuries, and the other suffered injuries that were classified as "non-life-threatening."
A fourth patient was taken to a DeKalb hospital, authorities said.
An investigation remains underway, and multiple neighboring fire departments provided assistance.
