Thousands of students in the Chicago area and across the country walked out of class at 10 a.m. Wednesday to demand action in preventing gun violence.
The protest came on the one-month anniversary of the shooting at a high school in Parkland, Florida, that left 17 people dead and several others wounded.
Wednesday's walkout was planned to inspire change, giving young people an opportunity to speak out and for students to express their frustration at inaction, organizers said.
