Chicago welcomes the weekend with scattered storms, rain and flash flooding—but it’s not all bad.
About 2 to 5 inches of rain were seen in several locations Saturday morning, mainly in northern Cook County. Several roads were temporarily closed due to flooding. NBC 5's StormChaser confirmed that there were several cars stranded near Wheeling Road, north of Prospect Heights, as police officers have road intersections blocked.
Saturday will see a high of 81 with a low of 64 and a chance for thunderstorms. Rain will likely continue until noon before we see some dry weather in the afternoon.
A second round of showers and storms is expected to move in late Saturday night and into overnight hours.
It is possible we see an isolated severe storm with strong winds and hail.

Flash Floods Tear Through Cook County
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue Sunday, with a low of 65 and the same threat of precipitation.
Monday should dry up a little but the rain and storms return in the evening hours and persist into Tuesday morning.
A tricky atmosphere hinders an accurate prediction of just how much rain coverage the weekend will see, according to the National Weather Service.
It will also be humid but cooler near the lakefront.
