Stormy Saturday in Store

Wet weather headed to Chicago area in two waves Saturday

If you're planning outdoor activities this weekend, Sunday is probably your best bet.

Wet weather is headed to the Chicago area in two waves Saturday. NBC 5 meteorologist Brant Miller says showers will begin to develop during the early-morning hours in the western suburbs.

The Storm Prediction Center places Chicago in the slight risk category for severe storms Saturday morning and later in the evening.

The first wave of wet weather should dissipate around noon, but will pick up later in the day, on into the evening hours. Expect a high temperature of 84 degrees on Saturday.

Sunday will also bring a chance for storms, but those aren't likely until later in the day.
