Roseanne Barr Thinks Kanye West is ‘Telling the Truth' About Chicago

Roseanne Barr took to Twitter on Thursday to back the rapper's thoughts on the city he grew up in.

Roseanne Barr thinks Kanye West is "telling the truth about Rahm's Chicago."

Barr took to Twitter on Thursday to back the rapper's thoughts on the city he grew up in.

"Ppl do not want to hear the truth-that Chicago could be a better city for its citizens, but the establishment is corrupted," Barr wrote on Twitter.

The comment apparently referenced West's tweet last week about Chicago: "Obama was in office for eight years and nothing in Chicago changed."

Mayor Rahm Emanuel was President Barack Obama's chief of staff from 2009 to 2010.

Barr went on to tweet: "will @kanyewest save Chicago? what do you think?"

She also wrote: "let's do something about #Chicago -all of us...instead of hurling insults and division. Let's try efficient government and unity JUST THIS ONCE!"

West was in the spotlight throughout last week for his sometimes controversial tweets that at one point involved Chance the Rapper chiming in.

West also professed his love for President Trump, who hasn't been shy in his criticism of Chicago and its violence.

Most recently, reports surfaced that West plans to tackle some of Chicago’s toughest issues with a new local charity.

According to a report, the organization would be called Donda Social, dedicated to taking on issues like housing education and gun violence.

The new effort could include other big-name artists, including Chance the Rapper and Common.

Roseanne's connection to Chicago isn't exactly clear, though her namesake sitcom was inspired by the Chicago suburb of Elgin.
