A person is dead and another is injured after a rollover crash on Interstate 57 Thursday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
A Chevrolet Impala, traveling southbound on the roadway just before noon, struck a semi-trailer and rolled over into the northbound lanes of the roadway, according to police.
A woman who was riding in the vehicle was thrown from the car, and was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.
The driver, who was also ejected from the vehicle, was airlifted to an area hospital and is being treated for his injuries, police said.
The driver of the semi-truck involved in the crash was unharmed, according to authorities.
All northbound lanes were closed after the accident, but have since re-opened, according to police.
