Robberies at North Side Businesses Prompt Community Alert

Three different businesses on the city’s North Side were robbed earlier this month, prompting a community alert to be issued by Chicago police.

The incidents occurred between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17, and were mainly concentrated in the city’s Cragin neighborhood, according to police. During the robberies, two men entered the businesses, pulled out a gun, and demanded money from cash registers.

The first such incident occurred on Nov. 15 in the 5400 block of West Belmont, with the other two robberies taking place on West Armitage and West Fullerton, police said.

Here is the full list of robberies:

Nov. 15 at 8:15 p.m. - 5400 block of West Belmont

Nov. 16 at 6:20 p.m. – 5000 block of West Armitage

Nov. 17 at 5:40 p.m. – 5700 block of West Fullerton

The men involved are described as two Hispanic males between the ages of 18 and 20. One stood between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7 and weighed between 120 and 150 pounds, while the other was 5-foot-11, weighing between 140 and 160 pounds.

Anyone with information on any of the robberies is encouraged to call 911, and business owners are encouraged to maintain their security systems.
