2 Charged in River North ‘Shots Fired' Incident Caught on Video, Cops Say

NBC 5 news has obtained the chilling video and audio that shows how a brazen shooting in the bustling River North neighborhood played out in the early-morning hours Wednesday.

Antione Davis, 36, of Hanover Park and Levertise Hewing, 32, whose address was not listed, were both charged in the incident. Hewing is charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and reckless conduct. Davis is charged with aggravated assault of a peace officer, reckless conduct and driving on a revoked license.

The shooting occurred about 3 a.m. in the club scene in the 300 block of West Huron Street. Witnesses say people in two cars were shooting at each other.

"During the shots fired incident, Officers identified a vehicle driven by Offender Davis, and attempted to stop the vehicle," police said in a statement. "Offender Davis continued to drive and disregarded officers verbal orders to stop. During the same incident a physical altercation ensued between Offender Hewing and a responding Sergeant in which the Sergeant was battered by Offender Hewing."

Cell phone video shows what happened moments after a shootout at the nightclub spilled to the Kennedy Expressway onto the Ontario feeder.

A white Rolls Royce crashes into a barrier.

Police tell NBC 5 that the area of is blanketed with crime cameras, and that they were instrumental in the detectives' investigation.

Both men are due in bond court Friday.
