Reward Offered in Fatal Round Lake Park Shooting

20-year-old Taiveyon Victorian was shot and killed at a house party on Sept. 29

A reward is now being offered for information in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Taiveyon Victorian.

Victorian was one of four people shot at a house party in suburban Round Lake Park on Sept. 29, according to police. Now, community members still in shock over his death are banding together to offer a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in his murder.

“My son made a decision to go to a party, but someone took the decision for my son to come back home,” Victorian’s mother Lakeisha said. “He was an all over loving kid. He was a great kid.”

Pastor Arthur J. Gass Sr. of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where Taiyevon attended services, is offering the reward for the information, and he blasted those who were at the party who have not stepped forward with information about Victorian’s shooting death.

“This so-called ‘Code of Silence’ stops today,” he said. “You are just as guilty as the shooters if you know who did it and won’t talk.”

Victorian was attending a large house party in the early morning hours of Sept. 29 when someone at the home opened fire, striking four individuals. Two other men were critically wounded, and Victorian died from his injuries.

Now, Victorian’s mother is hoping that the reward will help inspire those with information to step forward so that her son’s killer can be brought to justice.

“Tell us who it is. Turn someone in. Someone has to speak up,” she said.

The Lake County Crime Stoppers organization is also offering a reward of $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
