Rainy, Cool Conditions Keep Grip on Chicago Sunday

It will be a damp and colder than normal end of the weekend for Chicago-area residents, as a low pressure system refuses to loosen its grip on the area.

Temperatures will remain below average in the area, climbing into the mid-to-high 70’s as Sunday moves along. Extensive clouds and the threat of scattered showers will keep the temperatures down, but conditions will begin improving into the evening hours.

Residents are also encouraged not to go into Lake Michigan, as strong winds from the north will keep wave levels high and rip currents strong along the shoreline. Some waves could reach as high as four to seven feet.

Temperatures and conditions will become more seasonable beginning Monday, as high temperatures will climb back into the mid-80’s for the beginning of the work week under sunny skies.
