Part of the Chicago area saw stormy weather Wednesday with the chance for severe storms Thursday.
Wednesday’s windy and warm conditions brought a few scattered showers and isolated storms across the area during the afternoon and evening hours.
Wednesday’s weather was not severe, but there was a threat for frequent lightning, heavy rain and possibly small hail.
On and off showers and storms are expected to continue overnight and into Thursday morning, when some severe storms could develop.
Much of the Chicago area remains under a slight risk for severe storms Thursday while some far northwest suburbs are under a marginal risk, according to the National Weather Service.
The small, conditional threat for severe weather is greatest for areas east of Interstate 57 in Illinois and into northwest Indiana.
Temps are expected to warm into the 60s and possibly into the low-70s for far southern portions of the area.

The chance for occasional showers lingers into Friday and Saturday, with the rainy conditions possibly mixing with some light snow or ice pellets.
Temps are expected to remain in the low- to mid-40s for the end of the week.
