Rain, Possible Thunderstorms On the Way

Up to 1 inch of rain is expected to fall between Sunday afternoon and late Monday morning

The warm, pleasant week comes to an end Sunday afternoon.

Rain showers and a chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two are in the forecast through Sunday night. The rain is expected to move in from the south beginning at 2 or 3 p.m. and last for several hours, with heavy rainfall at times.

The Chicago area is not expected to endure severe weather, but some areas may experience thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Temperatures will remain relatively warm on Sunday, with a high of 62 degrees, but the warm temperatures will drop off following the storm system. Some areas of Chicago may even see temperatures near 70 degrees before they start falling.

Spotty rain showers will continue overnight Sunday and into Monday morning, but most of the week will remain dry. A total of 0.5 to 1 inch of rain will likely fall by midday Monday.

The high temperature for Monday is 59 degrees, followed by temperatures in the mid-50s for the rest of the week.

The next chance for rain will be Tuesday afternoon.
