Rahm, White House Team on Faith

The White House forum will discuss ways government can partner with nonprofits

Mayor Rahm Emanuel is working with the White House again.

On Tuesday, Emanuel will team up with the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships (OFBNP) for a conversation called "Connecting Communities for the Common Good" at the University of Illinois Chicago.

The forum will run all day and address how government can partner with nonprofit organizations to promote community well-being. Topics for conversation include jobs creation and preventing youth violence.

In addition to Emanuel, Special Assistant to the President Joshua DuBois will speak. DuBois heads the OFBNP. Speakers also include Representative Bobby Rush and Marie Johns, an official with the Small Business Administration.

The event is the sixth in a series of White House interactive conference making its way across the country.
