In honor of National Hot Dog Day, one of Chicago's top dog purveyors is celebrating with a "special, one-day-only" dollar deal.
On Wednesday, July 19, Portillo's customers can get a Chicago-style hot dog for $1 with purchase of an entree.
"National Hot Dog Day is designated each year by the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC), which also celebrates National Hot Dog Month throughout July," Portillo's explains.
The $1 deal runs from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. while supplies last. It's only available for dine-in and drive-thru customers. Online and catering orders don't apply.
Portillo's is no stranger to celebrating milestones with deals.
In April the Oak Brook-based chain offered slices of its chocolate cake for just 54 cents to celebrate its 54th anniversary.
